# PROJECT TX - Wing-Chun in VR - The need for physics arms! (rY0O4IqmB8g, 513s)
[Music] it's me NIMH suni welcome back to another viewer video today we are back in project TX just for a very quick short video I am working on the hand grab system right now so I haven't done much body structure work although the arms are something that I need to look into make sure they're less wobbly and less chickeny as they are in this video here what I am doing I am looking into ohms once again and I wanted to make a little another one of those runs on arms again because I have noticed recently that a lot of people have been somewhat put off from the idea of basic physics in in VR enough people don't really grasp how much of an impact arms make on the physics side now I know I made a video when the when I was talking about property what they call half-life Alex and that was obviously me talking about forums because everyone was talking about forums and that's the thing people still have this idea that for arms and full arms or something to do with pure visuals I'm not talking about visuals I don't care about visuals honestly personally if you have floating arms floating hands sorry that's perfectly fine by me however half-life alex is using physics based hands and you may have noticed from recent projects and recent games that you may have played that having a lack of forearm lack of arm structure can be really impactful in a game where you've got physics hands one of the biggest problems obviously is where you have your hand over there and then you sort of walk through and your hands now on the other side of the object while your body is on this side that is problematic with a full arm that's no longer a problem and a very good way to show this off is something that requires you to really have a grasp of melee fighting Wing Chun function then dummy over here who of course most people and their training with a Wing Chun dummy we'll use mostly therefore their forearms and of course their hands you know so things like the push here obviously that's in the hands but things like this you know and you can see how we actually impacts your ability to move with with something like this and your ability to actually interact melee fighting is what happened there did you see a jump that's that's me using one tracker I don't know why I keep doing this to myself I keep using one sensor it's not a good idea anyways back to what I'm talking about melee fighting is something that really really requires forearms when you're dealing with the physics hand when you're dealing with physics hands in particular having floating hands that go through objects it doesn't matter you don't need those arms you don't need or arm structures whereas when you're grappling something you know having the ability to you know pull on something for example like this I can do this and I'm now grabbed onto it you see I can do this and I can go in from the top I'm just sort of I'm working with one sensor just because I'm lazy and I don't want to put my other sensor there on a chair because I haven't set up my room nicely yet for VR but yeah you can see here so I've just saw been playing around with this I am training in VR obviously I don't have a Wing Chun dummy in reality obviously I don't have a Wing Chun dummy in reality but yeah it's quite fun to sort of mess around with this it's really quite fun but yeah a little bit of training on a Wing Chun dummy that really shows off your necessity for something like forearms and I keep saying forearms in this case because the thing is a lot of people obviously they think that having a full arm can be problematic I'm actually looking through the viewfinder here on the camera this time I added a little a little fear finder to the camera there we go now you can have a good look at the entire thing and yeah a lot of people think that I'm talking about the full arm I don't mind the full arm because this isn't a body connected system we're talking about in most games there are a couple of games where the hands are actually having an impact on the player movement obviously what I'm doing here my ability to climb up on things just by throwing my arms over it and hanging off like that but in other games most games are trying to solve move into physics now while doing so on just the hands not having an impact on player movement because that obviously he brings its own challenges so when you're doing that and this is something that I did in my hybrid present hybrid test chamber demo which was more about locomotion and a little bit of physics that one had physics hands but they were forearms connected to that they weren't affecting the visual model but they were colliding with things and that makes a massive difference in the balance of things that you hold it it has an impact it is absolutely necessary and I wanted to show that in a nice way which of course having Richenda me really makes that difference see I haven't trained women for a long time so I don't really know much I consider me probably less than beginner this yeah anyways I am sweating like a madman I am tired and that's all that I've got for for this Sunday here but I've got a lot of time coming up next week so I'll probably be between a little bit more on this system I'm still really hoping to get a demo out I'll add one of these to the demo to make it nice and fun for you it's probably something you've never done in VR because without those full arm structures something like this really really doesn't it doesn't work properly I apologize for my slightly out of breath sound on this video but you can imagine I'm actually putting some effort into into my movement in this video I'm not just saying easy all the time because we in turn learning things like this learning martial arts and whatever these things are not easy I mean they're easy to learn but it takes so much time and effort so yeah there you go that's the end of this video thanks very much for watching there's so much more to come with this system so much more I can do I am completely rewriting the grabs once again like I mentioned in the last video so look forward to some more advanced stuff there and gonna start thinking of adding the knuckles controllers in and give these hands a full-on revamp hopefully remodel the arms as well make it look more human in terms of the body structure thanks very much for watching your back
